EVALUATION QUESTION 4
Question 4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Throughout the planning and research stages I have centrally used presentation websites such as Prezi and Microsoft Powerpoint in order to have a more creative way of presenting my work. Prezi has been especially helpful as I have been able to lay work out which is in essay length, but easier to read as the presentation is in note form. YouTube has also been beneficial over the course of the year, as this has been the place for me to access music videos to influence my own production and to upload my own final music video. Blogger has been the place where I store all of my work and coursework over the year, this website allows to embed links from websites and keep my work organised into folders, easy for myself to find for revision and my teachers to find to assess.
During the shoot we used the Canon EOS 600D to capture HD footage, the camera was very easy to use and able to record in high definition despite the clouded weather conditions we had for the shoot. The 18-25mm lense meant the depth of frame was soft and focus pulls were natural and instigated by the camera as opposed to being done manually, the softness of image reflecting the indie genre and the femininity represented in the video. There were several occasions where the focus was adjusted by hand but I think these created too much of harsh difference between the protagonist and her back drop. When editing my music video I used Premier Pro, this an editing appliance which aided me to shorten and lengthen clips in accordance to the pace of the music and the edit of the music video. I edited opacity levels throughout so clips could overlap to form the sense of adventure and depth to the travels and
exploring the star performer partakes in. I generally lowed the opacity of the protagonist and left the full saturation and contrast of a location within the background, this therefore developed the idea that the star performers journey and discovering were significant to her development throughout the narrative. In Adobe Photoshop for my print productions I also continued this idea of overlapping and blurring through my use of double exposure, this achieved using the lasso tool, (outlining the protagonist) then transferring her betwe
en the layers and then using the colour and opacity tool to double expose the images. The last panel uses triangles within the main cube of the image to show colour aspects of the music video, reminiscent of the harmony the protagonist experiences throughout the music video. The diamond shape connotes wisdom and clarity, this shape a recurring motif throughout my print production and magazine advert therefore creating a concordance and recurring theme within the projection of my artist, hopefully something the audience can identify to find my artist more specifically.

EARLY PLANS FOR PRINT PRODUCTION (ROUGH) AND INFLUENCES
Whilst still exploring ideas for the last two panels, I have put together two rough ideas for panels one and two. when consdiering how our music video explores the girl and her travels, I decided that I wanted to keep her as the main focus and make her a symbol of the artist's music. I am thinking of changing panel one and taking away the middle black and white square to keep the panel more colourful, I am also exploring my different options of where I can place the artists name and the title of the track. Panel two is also just a rough cut and I will be exploring with many more different combinations of shapes to piece together the picture.
INFLUENCES OF PANEL ONE
I think that the use of the four coloured backgrounds on four separate blocks on the Blur album helps catch the eye and attract attention. I also think in Andy Warhol's piece 'Marilyn Diptych' the way the same shot is used but edited differently each time adds a much larger depth to the shot. I decided that I would try to incorporate these things with eachother to create my first panel.

In both the Keane album and Picasso's 'The Weeping Woman' I love how shapes are used to break apart and piece together an image. I decided I want a similar effect in my print production.
